About

Welcome to my blog! My name is Ediot and I’m an alien. Here I’ll share my thoughts about the things I read and observe,  especially about idionomics. Ok, let me explain!

Homo-sapiens, the species to which we modern humans belong evolved from great apes roughly three lakh years ago. And since then we have come a long way. But despite so much economic development beginning the first industrial revolution (the fourth is currently underway), the world is strife with capitalism, communism, casteism, colorism, creationism,  fundamentalism, fanaticism, Machiavellianism, militarism, majoritarianism, materialism, nationalism, protectionism, patriotism, populism, radicalism, racism, rationalism, speciesism, short-termism, statism, sexism, terrorism, trumpism, theism, etc. All this is tearing the world apart. And, that’s why the Oxford dictionary has formally recognized the word idiocracy.

Willful blindness is one of the root causes behind this terrible state of affairs, but like law (Ignorantia Juris non-excusat), life does not excuse ignorance. We cannot wish away the problems by sticking our heads in the sand like an ostrich pretending the hazard doesn’t exist. It’s time to acknowledge the bad news.

So, I coined the term ‘Idionomist’  to explore the economics of wilful blindness and I’m sure it won’t be long before both the words “idionomics” and “idionomist” also become part of the Oxford dictionary.
